Event production in Bangkok
Warehouses, rooftops, riversides. A city that already has the power and its own rules.
Bangkok is the opposite of a beach. There is a venue for everything, a hire company for everything and a rule for everything, and the job is knowing which of each to trust. We run city shows from a Phuket base with a crew that goes up the road regularly and a supplier list that has been cut down to the people who turn up. Company wide, the page is event production in Thailand.
What a Bangkok show involves
Most of the physical work is already done for you, which changes what you are paying for. A warehouse has a floor, a roof, doors a truck fits through and three phase power on the wall. A rooftop has a view and a lift that is too small. A club has a sound system that may or may not be what the rider says. The value we add in Bangkok is the production management: choosing the venue against the brief, reading the venue's licence so the set times are legal, building the spec to fill the gaps between what is in the room and what the show needs, hiring the gaps locally, and being the one person on site who answers to you.
The hire market is the deepest in the country. Line arrays, LED walls, lasers, staging and rigging are all available at short notice and at prices that make trucking from Phuket pointless for a single date. The catch is quality control. We use a short list of Bangkok companies we have worked with, we send our own engineer to walk the kit before it leaves the warehouse, and our production manager runs the show. You get the local price with our name on the contract.
Venues and where to look
Warehouses around Rama IX, Bang Na and the eastern fringe for the big unlicensed feel with a proper licence behind it. Rooftops in Sathorn and Silom for brand launches and anything that wants the skyline in the photos. Riverside sites on the Chao Phraya for outdoor events with a real load in problem and a view worth it. Exhibition halls at Impact, BITEC and Queen Sirikit when the capacity goes past what a room can hold. Clubs and live rooms across RCA, Thonglor, Ekkamai and the old town for touring artists who want a show, not a booking.
Rules, curfews and permits
Bangkok's rules are district by district and licence by licence. A venue in a designated entertainment zone can trade late; the same show two streets away stops at midnight. Outdoor sites need the district office and the police, the same as anywhere in Thailand, plus a noise reading at the boundary. Rooftops bring the building's own management into it and their fire officer has the last word on capacity. We read all of this before you book the artist so the set time on the flyer is one the venue can actually hold.

Who we work with in Bangkok
Touring promoters and agencies bringing international artists who want a production partner rather than a venue's house team. Brands launching in the Thai market with an event that needs to look like a show. Festival organisers with a Bangkok date on the route who want continuity with their Phuket or island shows. And Thai promoters who want a production manager on the floor instead of a hire company on the phone.
The modules in a city
In Bangkok kit and stage is usually a top up on a venue's system plus our crew. Full production is the common one: venue, spec, hire, permits, artist logistics, hotels, drivers and the budget. End to end comes into it when a brand wants the whole event, content included. For the same work on bare ground with none of the infrastructure, see festival production in Thailand.

Questions promoters ask
Bangkok shows, answered
What does production for a Bangkok venue show cost?
Usually less than the same show in Phuket, because the hire market is deeper and most venues already have power, a floor and a roof. A club or warehouse show with our sound, lighting and crew added to the house system is the cheap end; a rooftop or outdoor city site that needs its own power and structures is the expensive end. Bangkok venue hire itself varies enormously and we will tell you which quotes are fair.
Do you have kit in Bangkok or does it come from Phuket?
Both. Bangkok has the deepest hire market in the country and for most city shows it is cheaper and faster to hire locally with our crew running it. For anything that needs to match a spec exactly, or for a run of dates, we truck our own kit up overnight. Either way our production manager is on site and the contract is with us.
What are the noise and curfew rules in Bangkok?
It depends on the district and the venue's licence, which is why the venue choice matters more than the lineup. Licensed nightlife zones can run to 2am, in some cases later; outdoor and rooftop sites are usually held to a fixed decibel reading at the boundary and a midnight stop. We check the licence before you announce a set time.
Can you handle a touring show that stops in Bangkok and Phuket?
Yes, and it is one of the reasons to use one company. Same production manager, same crew core, same spec, two very different rooms. We plan the freight so nothing sits idle and the artist's team deals with one person for both dates. See event production in Phuket for the island end.
Which Bangkok venues do you work with?
Warehouses in the Sukhumvit and Rama IX fringes, rooftops in the centre, riverside sites on the Chao Phraya, exhibition halls when the numbers need it, and clubs across RCA, Thonglor and Ekkamai. We do not list them here because the good ones change year to year. Ask and we will give you three that fit the brief and one that would have burned you.
How far ahead do we need to book a Bangkok show?
A few weeks for a venue show with hired kit, provided the venue is free. Large exhibition halls book out months ahead and the good weekends in high season go first. If the show involves a visa run for foreign crew or artists, add the time that takes.
Do you do brand activations and corporate events in Bangkok?
Yes. Product launches, sponsor stages at other people's festivals, conference production with a proper sound system, private events for brands that want the show to look like a show. Same crew, same kit, quieter start times.
Planning a Bangkok date?
Tell us the artist, the capacity and the week. We will come back with three venues that fit and a number for each.
